just stumbled upon this,
weird, I don't have any online friends, and I'm not away from reality, but

graduation a big occasion for someone who has spent their whole life in a country where the event is given importance equivalent to birth, and wedding, but for me it was just one of those things you have to do in order to please others.
spending 55$ on cape/gown was just the beginning of the whole thing, pictures taken at graduation are sold at a premium and I bought one for 81$, I wouldn’t even spend that much money to buy a picture of mine with some-hot-cute celebrity.
then the ball game is waiting, waiting for EAD card, because without that I can not start working, so all I have to do is wait and pray that I retain my job till that thing comes, so much to earn big green bucks,
netflix is a big help, helps me kill time,

Good news,
being an AVID, Office fan, I’m glad do know NBC has picked up option for season 5 of The Office and icing on cake is a full new season of 30 Rock which has proved to be a brilliant comedy, Tina Fey is amazing,

I'm trying this new thing, which is supposed to be therapeutic, talking/communicating, my close friends think that I've become quite aloof, and that is supposedly not good for ones health/mind etc.
So instead of talking to a real person I'd keep posting as long as I'm awake, anything and everything, I think it will be a narration of my day, and even I'm going to be bored of that soon.
just found out
This and this
apparently google is not satisfied with its massive search based knowledge database and google scholar isn't a main stream tool yet, so welcome Knol which is supposed to be "SMALLEST UNIT OF KNOWLEDGE" but I think it is a play on the word, "KNOW IT ALL "

one thing you always wonder about after all three of them is WHEN will I get my results, that wait kills more than the actual event or the preparation before that, because the ball is literally in their court, and there is NOTHING you can do about it, NOTHING, and that honestly sucks,
now, I'm have one of them tomorrow, and I had one of them last week, and one of them is not going to happen this semester,
tomorrow is deadline for H1 filing, and there is no job offer yet, so next year, lets see how it goes.
for the hopefuls coming to US for a better/easier/smoother future, a caveat, ITS NOT THAT EASY,
Some clichés I'm in no mood for,

Some clichés I'm in no mood for,
- when the going gets tough, tough gets going
- Time heals everything,
- Failure teaches you how to succeed
- just wait for it, right thing is waiting for you around the corner
- There is a silver lining to every cloud

Any graduate/international student in USA faces biggest challenge
after graduation, H1B visa, problems range from getting a job with
company willing to sponsor visa, getting that job in time, getting the
job in the field you literally busted your ass for, avoiding
temptation of joining a sketchy “consultant” who’ll promise filing H1
for you and then literally exploit you in bodyshop scenario,
I really want my troubles to end at first two, because one of the
biggest factor is companies like infosys are filing H1s for at least
20,000 of the total 70,000 employees that is almost 28% of the company
and total visa cap for the whole world is 65,000 with extra 20,000 for
students with degree from a US university

Irony, I think best describes the feeling I had from, Charlie Wilson's War, I remember watching a movie when I was little, Rambo III, which was probably the first hollywood movie I ever saw, and I still remember the end credit,
"This movie is dedicated to gallant people of Afghanistan"
Not so gallant when some one has to bomb them out of their caves, I guess, alas politics has never made sense to me, but that was funny,
And from Charlie Wilson's War,
“These things happened. They were glorious and they changed the world …
… and then we fucked up the end game” - Charles Nesbitt “Charlie” Wilson
If Mr. Charles Wilson ever ran for president, and I had voting rights, he'd definitely get my vote.
In general a good movie, must watch for anyone who likes either War Movies, or Tom Hanks, or Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Almost 19th months living in US, from days where spending one dollar felt like a heart burn to days where I can spend $80 just on a whim to buy new shoes. Things have changed, and there is no denial to that, but apart from this new exterior, and possible skills I have learned from the courses taken so far, I do not think I have anything substantial I can attribute to this culture, I mean I still prefer home cooked food over sandwich/burrito/burger/pasta, I still hang out with the same friends I had before I left India, I mean the means of communications have of course changed.
I have become an addict of TV, well I was an addict of TV, but now choice of content has changed, now I enjoy shows like, The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Late Show. etc. I have almost stopped reading, I still read/contribute to wikipedia regularly but its not the same.
I am going to get hold of my life again
